Seven people hiking along the Nojoqui Falls trail avoided a large landslide Wednesday morning. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department initially received a call that four to five people were trapped behind the landslide at the top of the trail, but when they dispatched three fire engines, a search and rescue team, and a helicopter to the scene, they discovered two separate hiking groups unharmed. All were assisted down the trail by firefighters. A second slide occurred as firefighters were still in the vicinity of the first slide. The trail remains closed until further notice.
