In all my years, I have never been pursued like I was before our recent election. Dozens of beautiful brochures were mailed to me from the No on Measure P campaign. There were daily phone calls (sometimes several a day) trying to interview me and ask my opinions. “No thank you. I’m not interested. I don’t talk politics over the telephone.” Then I received the biggest insult of all to my intelligence. I was called and invited to go sit for 90 minutes at a focus group in Buellton after which I would be paid $150. No thank you. My vote isn’t for sale at any price. I voted “yes” on Measure P.
We residents of Santa Barbara County — farmers, ranchers, businesses, and individuals — continue to strongly guard the people’s right to clean water. Hopefully, the No on P’s expensive brainwashing campaign will be overpowered by more people becoming educated to the truth.
