A bag full of mail from addresses off Highway 246 between Cebada Canyon in Lompoc and Mail Road near Buellton was found in a Buellton hotel suite on Tuesday. Sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate the disappearance of televisions and other electronic equipment from the hotel on the 500 block of McMurray Road when the bag of stolen mail was discovered. The rooms had been rented by Sireena Dominguez and Ashley Barnett, both 25 and from Santa Maria, using stolen credit card information, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Both women are suspected of similar crimes in North County, the Sheriff’s Office stated, and they are believed to be driving a Ford F350 U-Haul with the U-Haul logo faded or removed. Dominguez was arrested the week previous for stealing a BMW in Buellton, but she posted bail and was released from jail before checking into the hotel.
The Sheriff’s Office advises residents in the area to check their credit card transactions frequently to keep fraudulent activity to a minimum.
