Santa Barbara High athletes Junior Garcia and Dane Miller are proof that the best offense can some times be a good defense. The outstanding defensive performances of Garcia and Miller played a big part in helping their respective teams win rivalry games against Dos Pueblos.
Garcia, a linebacker/running back for the Dons football team, recovered a fumble and was in on numerous tackles against DP. He also answered the call on offense in overtime, rushing for the winning touchdown in a 28-21 victory.
Miller did her magic on the volleyball court. The senior libero picked up 23 digs — many of them coming on crushing hits — and provided excellent passing to spark Santa Barbara to a three-set sweep at first-place Dos Pueblos.
