UCSB continues to live up to its “work hard, play hard” reputation, earning prestige this week for its academics after receiving high rankings for its party scene last month. According to U.S. News and World Report — which analyzed data provided by more than 1,200 universities nationwide — UCSB is the 10th best of the “Top 30 Public National Universities” and the 40th best of the “Best National Universities,” which includes public and private colleges; its engineering school ranked 20th of all programs at public institutions. In August, The Princeton Review deemed UCSB the top-three party school in the country. The same U.S. News and World Report list placed Westmont College in the top 100 liberal arts colleges.
