Though the original feedback period was slated to end early next month, there’s even more time to comment on the County of Santa Barbara’s proposed changes to the winery ordinance, as the deadline has now been extended until May 2.
The changes — which were called for by those worried about the industry’s impacts yet have stoked fear in winemakers fearing overregulation — include developing a three-tier system, allowing for certain types of food service, and differing rules depending on how rural the location is.
