Last Sunday we held the official opening of our “Give a Dog a Home” Adoption ReTail Center at La Cumbre Plaza. With space generously donated by the Plaza, shelter volunteers are able to bring adoptable dogs to the ReTail Center every Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., so the public can “interview” them in a friendly environment on a day when the shelter is closed. It’s an exciting, wonderful opportunity to match loving dogs with families ready to give a dog a loving, lifetime home.
We extend special thanks to 2nd District Supervisor Janet Wolf and City Councilmember Cathy Murillo for cutting the ribbon at our opening and offering a warm welcome to visitors. Santa Barbara is very lucky to have such hard-working, committed elected officials who are willing to come out on a Sunday to help promote events that benefit causes such as this. Both Supervisor Wolf and Councilmember Murillo have shown strong support for animal welfare over the years, for which we shelter volunteers — and the animals we take care of — are very grateful!
We hope to see potential adopters at our ReTail Center on a Sunday coming soon! For more information call (805) 681-4369.
