6/6; 7:10 a.m.; 728 ½ East Haley Street: Police executed a search warrant on a residence. A suspected gang member, his girlfriend, and her 3-year-old child were at the home when authorities arrived. During the search, police found four firearms, ammunition, 1.6 pounds of methamphetamine, and 9.8 ounces of cocaine. The man was charged for the drugs, weapons, a gang enhancement, and child endangerment. (Go here for more on this arrest.)
6/7; 9:30 a.m.; 100 West Castillo Street: Ralphs employees called police to report a drunk man causing a disturbance. Due to his high level of intoxication, the man was transported to Cottage Hospital for the third time in 24 hours. He was eventually arrested and charged with public intoxication.
6/8; 4:56 p.m.; 432 West Islay Street: A mother called the cops on her 30-year-old son for breaking doors, glasses, and dishes in her home. Police arrived on the scene and had to retrieve the suspect from the roof of the home. He was arrested for vandalism.
6/10; 1:35 p.m.; City Lot 10: A man was cited for skateboarding in a city parking lot. Upon search of the man, police found a Casa Esperanza ID card and a food stamp card that did not match his identity. The man admitted to using the Casa ID to get the food stamp card. He was arrested and charged with welfare fraud, a misdemeanor.
6/12; 2:21 p.m.; 1100 Cacique Street: A woman allegedly pointed a knife at another woman who had confronted the suspect about stealing a purse. The victim took cell phone pictures of the suspect threatening her with the knife. At one point the suspect threw the knife at the victim, narrowly missing her, and then chased her with a mop. The suspect was arrested and charged with brandishing a weapon.
6/13; 1:30 a.m.; 340 Rosario Street: A man called police to report that three men were rummaging through his car. When police arrived, they found one of the suspects underneath a parked SUV, 75 yards away from the burglary victim’s house. The suspect was arrested. Upon further investigation, police noticed that several cars in the neighborhood had been broken into.
