Families and children are encouraged to bring a blanket and enjoy this free event on the front lawn of the Library, located at 40 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara. This year’s celebration features a special concert by musician José-Luis Orozco, a beloved bilingual children’s performer. The festivities will also include family photos and a piñata.
Often referred to simply as “Día,” this annual event is a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literacy for children from all backgrounds. This program is made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Santa Barbara Public Library, the Santa Cruz Markets, Marborg Industries and CVS. It takes place just before the monthly 1st Thursday art walk, an evening of art and culture in downtown Santa Barbara.
