FEMINIST FROM WILLOWS: Santa Barbara Independent news intern Annalise Domenighini, who hails from a small town outside Chico, said her quiet interest in gender equality sprouted wings when she decided to pair her English major with a degree in feminist studies. “I learned things in class I never noticed before and realized they applied to a lot of what I already believed.” But like any good reporter, Domenighini shelves her personal politics to report for The Indy, taking special pride in her recent story about changes in green card law. Domenighini said she’d like to continue working in the media world when she graduates this spring and is keeping her eyes peeled for internship opportunities next year. “I’m very hirable,” she explained.
