Last year more than 700 kids received sports equipment and clothing thanks to Sports Drive, an annual event spearheaded by a group of teens. The program was initiated in 2010 by 40 students who wanted to help the less fortunate kids in our community. “Our mission is to get kids off the street and into sports, support the Boys & Girls Club, and recycle sports equipment. The concept is simple, but it takes a big team to make this event happen,” said founding member Matt Wagonhurst. (Donations will be accepted through Thursday, February 28.)
