By the early 1980’s, the once bountiful population of California Condors dating back over 10,000 years had dwindled to just 22 wild birds. The Endangered Species Act of 1966 allowed for herculean efforts to be made in saving the species, and the new documentary film The Condor’s Shadow shows these efforts, and the dedicated individuals behind them, in sweeping and often heartbreaking detail.
