The local moving and storage company presented Foodbank with a $1,000 donation during the holidays that will translate into approximately 8,000 meals for local families in need.
The check presentation also marked the kickoff of a unique partnership coordinated through Move For Hunger, a national program that matches local moving companies with local food banks to help people who are moving donated non-perishable food items which otherwise would be thrown out or wasted. People who are relocating with Hazelwood Allied Moving and Storage can request a food donation pickup through the Move For Hunger website, or through the Hazelwood Allied office. Hazelwood Allied Moving and Storage will provide the food donation box, collect it and deliver it to the Foodbank during the relocation process.
