Two-time Academy Award-winner Daniel Day-Lewis will received the Montecito Award at the upcoming Santa Barbara International Film Festival, executive director Roger Durling announced this week. He’ll be recognized for his performance in Lincoln as well as the many celebrated roles he’s played throughout a lengthy career.
“Daniel Day-Lewis continues to inspire the industry and the public by his approach to tackling the most complex of characters and delivering brilliant performances time after time,” said Durling in a prepared statement. “He is indicative of what the Montecito Award represents, and we are thrilled to be presenting this to him this year.”
Past recipients of the Montecito Award include Geoffrey Rush, Julianne Moore, Kate Winslet, Javier Bardem, Naomi Watts, and Annette Bening. Day-Lewis’s tribute ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 26, at the Arlington Theatre.
