As long lines and longer delays become the norm for air travel, even for first-class and business travelers, a new jet service has launched for fliers looking for a better alternative.
The brainchild of helicopter pilot and former Santa Barbaran Will Ashcroft, Jumpjet organizes private jet travel for its members and their guests for set monthly subscription prices based on travel distance. Members contact Jumpjet with their destination and desired time of arrival, and the company does the rest.
Ashcroft said his company can offer such an easy travel experience for a relatively reasonable sum because of the software he and his staff have been building and testing the past several years. “Our technology provides the most efficient use of passengers and aircraft,” he said. “You can save yourself between three to six hours a day … That’s enormous.”
The company provides operators, pilots, and aircraft that are inspected and audited by Wyvern and Argus International, and that are FAA-certified for charter operations. Jumpjet is set to operate out of more than 40 cities, including Santa Barbara, and to fly to more than a thousand airports.
Memberships come in several corporate and personal tiers according to travel distance. For instance, the $2,350 monthly membership, which includes 10 annual round-trips, takes passengers to destinations within 1,750 miles. And guests may accompany members at $1,250-$2,000 per flight. Better yet, membership allows you to “tag along” on any flights already booked by other members — for free.
