It’s not only wee boys who dream of climbing on a tractor, honking a fire engine’s horn, or sitting in a helicopter pilot’s seat. The smart folks at Postpartum Education for Parents (PEP) know this and so, for the second year in a row, are throwing “Touch a Truck,” a fundraiser for the 35-year-old nonprofit. The community event offers a gaggle of cool transportation machines for all ages to learn about and climb on, including tow trucks, tractors, trolleys, emergency vehicles, and the aforementioned whirlybird. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase. The gathering takes place Sunday, September 23, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Elks Lodge, 150 North Kellogg Avenue, Goleta. Tickets are $5 (individual), $20 (family). For more information, visit peptouchatruck.org.
