Authorities have identified the body found in the lake area of the Alisal Guest Ranch as Kurt Brimberry, the man who went missing after crashing his vehicle into a tree near the property on August 18.
Brimberry’s body was found Wednesday morning by a ranch employee. The cause of death is under investigation and could take several weeks to determine, according to Sheriff’s spokesperson Sergeant Mark Williams.
Authorities were perplexed to find 55-year-old Brimberry’s vehicle abandoned shortly after it crashed into a tree near Nojoqui Park on August 18. A short time after the collision, a passerby reported seeing a man matching Brimberry’s description walking on Alisal Road toward the ranch, but a search team of a helicopter, dogs, and the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team could not find anyone. Brimberry, from San Marino, had left his cell phone in the vehicle.
