As we reported last week, Santa Barbara County officials are looking at beach parking fees as a possible way to generate revenue for the area.
The Santa Barbara County Park Commission will hold a meeting this Thursday, July 26, where it will receive a report from staff about potential beach parking fees at seven county locations — Rincon Beach, Loon Point, Lookout Park, Arroyo Burro Beach, Goleta Beach, Ocean Beach, and Guadalupe Dunes Park.
The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors hearing room on the fourth floor of the County Administration Building at 105 East Anapamu Street.
For those in the North County who can’t make the trip, they can provide remote testimony from the Board of Supervisors conference room in Santa Maria. The address for that building is 511 East Lakeside Parkway.
Similar meetings will be held on August 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the Santa Barbara Planning Commission Hearing Room at 123 East Anapamu Street, and August 23 at 9:30 a.m. at the Santa Maria Board of Supervisors Hearing Room. Remote testimony will also be available on those dates.
If you can’t make any of the meetings, you can fill out a questionnaire on beach parking fees at sbparks.org. These questionnaires must be completed by August 16.
