The northbound lanes of Highway 101 near Gaviota State Park will be closed for two to three weeks tentatively beginning on Tuesday evening, July 10, to replace a drainage culvert under the highway. These repairs, said a Caltrans spokesperson, are necessary to prevent a more serious, long-term roadway failure. Motorists traveling northbound will be detoured onto southbound 101 lanes, which will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the Gaviota Pass area.
