Chamber of Commerce President Retires
Chamber of Commerce President Steve Cushman announced his retirement on Tuesday. The chamber’s longest-serving president, Cushman returned to Santa Barbara — where he attended college and played baseball at UCSB — in 1988 to head up the business booster. On finding a replacement, Board Chair Janet Garufis said, “It will take however long it takes to get the best person for the job.” According to a press release, Cushman’s “most memorable Chamber experience was the planning and construction of Kids World Playground in Alameda Park in 1994.”
