SBCC’s new president has officially been hired as the school’s board last Thursday approved a three-year contract for Lori Gaskin, who comes from West Valley College in Saratoga, California. Gaskin will make $225,000 per year with benefits and a $700 per month expense account. She will undergo annual evaluations after which her contract may be extended. The contract takes effect on July 9. Gaskin will join the college just as it struggles to make a possible $15 million in cuts and moves all of its noncredit enrichment courses to a new self-supporting, privately funded entity.
