Two Teens Stabbed by Reported Gangmembers
Pack of Four to Six Suspects Jumped Two Non-gangmembers
Two teenagers were stabbed in what authorities are calling a gang-related attack last Thursday night on the city’s Westside.
A police spokesperson said two teens — ages 15 and 16, and neither members of a gang — were walking eastbound along the 600 block of West Sola Street toward San Pascual Street when a vehicle stopped and four to six Hispanic males got out. One of the suspects, according to Sgt. Lorenzo Duarte, yelled, “Where you from?” at the two, who tried to explain they weren’t involved in a gang.
The group attacked the two teens, and the 16-year-old received three wounds on his upper torso, two cuts on his back, and one to his rear end. The other boy received one stab wound to the shoulder.
The group of suspects then got back in the vehicle and left, driving westbound on Sola Street, Duarte said. Both victims were taken to Cottage Hospital. As of Friday, the 16-year-old was still in the hospital.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to call Detective Andre Feller at (805) 897-2309.
