Into Eternity is a fascinating documentary film that explores the likely impossible (and frightening) concept of storing radioactive nuclear waste for 100,000 years — the amount of time that scientists estimate is needed to render the material safe. The film follows the construction of the Onkalo Waste Repository in Finland and asks questions about the potential fate of the nuclear waste’s intended long-term existence. Into Eternity screens at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 17, at UCSB’s Campbell Hall. Tickets are $6 (free for UCSB students). Call 893-3535 for more info.
