Goleta Lemon Festival Needs Volunteers; Nonprofit Aikido Studio Hosts Beer Pairing Fundraiser

• Volunteers are needed at next week’s California Lemon Festival at Girsh Park (7050 Phelps Rd., Goleta). The event, now in its 20th year, needs helpers for tasks like setting up, running booths, selling memorabilia, helping visitors, cleanup, and more. Volunteers are needed for preparation on Friday, October 14, and during the festival, Saturday-Sunday, October 15-16. • Aikido Kenkyukai Santa Barbara (AKSB), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and martial arts studio in S.B., will hold a Beer Pairing, Tasting, and Aikido Fundraiser this week, hosted by noted beer and food expert Zach Rosen, who holds the title of the world’s youngest certified cicerone, or sommelier for beer. The event runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, at the AKSB studio, 121-A East Mason Street. Admission to the event is free with donation to the studio; ages 21+ only.
