Until now, the library’s catalog of over 3,500 eBooks has been available for free download to computers and most portable devices other than the Kindle. “Many of our patrons have been disappointed that their Kindles were not compatible with library eBooks, so this development is great news for those readers,” said Jace Turner, Senior Reference Librarian.
To access the eBooks, patrons can visit the Library’s website at www.SBPLibrary.org and click on the Downloadable eBooks and Audiobooks link on the Most Popular menu, and then follow the instructions on the screen. eBooks can be borrowed for 7, 14, or 21 days, and patrons may place a free hold on any title not available.
In addition to eBooks, the library has 3,400 Audiobooks available for downloading on to your computer or portable device. A complete list of compatible devices for eBooks and Audiobooks can be accessed by clicking on the Downloadable eBooks and Audiobooks link on the Library’s website.
