The proposal to extend Ekwill Street and Fowler Road in Old Town Goleta and open up parts of that neighborhood to better traffic flow is now available for review by the public, as the draft environmental report was released this week. The project, which is also designed to reduce congestion along Hollister Avenue, would extend the two streets between Fairview and Kellogg avenues, put roundabouts at three intersections (including Hollister and 217), add space for turning lanes, bikes, and sidewalks, and complete a San Jose Creek trail. A hearing to accept oral feedback will be held on September 19, 6 p.m. at City Hall, and written input, which can be faxed to 685-2653, must be received by October 17.
