Kids love eating apples. Birds do, too. Put both of these concepts together, and you get a fun activity for human youngsters. Whole Foods Kids Club is sponsoring an afternoon of creativity on Friday, September 23, with area kid-gardening diva Judy Sims. Sims pioneered school gardens at the Hope School District and then led the s’Cool Gardens for a time. She’s back to teach this class in apple lore that will range from different varieties of apples to the history of their cultivation in America (Johnny Appleseed will get his due). The take-home message will be underscored by a take-home bird feeder featuring this tasty fruit. Kids must be 5 or older, and space is limited. Call 837-6959 and ask for Rae in Marketing for registration and details.
