“The Fourth of July fireworks show is an important event for these local cities and its community members,” said Vincent Armenta, tribal chairman for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. “We’re pleased to provide the funding needed to keep the long-standing tradition of the fireworks shows.”
The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation began to receive pleas for donations to help offset pyrotechnic costs in March. Those requests were submitted by City Parks and Recreation departments, Chambers of Commerce, and Rotarian groups. All groups faced the same obstacle – costs to put on the fireworks were a larger expense than the small communities could afford.
Local families can anticipate another safe and fun event this July in Santa Maria, Lompoc, the Santa Ynez Valley, Goleta, and Santa Barbara. To learn more about locations and event times in your city log on or call:
