Members of Team Soil – BMX bombers out of Costa Mesa – took to State Street’s asphalt and air during Santa Barbara’s Bike to Work Day celebration on May 24. The early evening event was part of a month packed with CycleMAYNIA activities geared toward two-wheeled fun and education, and put on by Bici Centro and the Bicycle Coalition.

As riders took to quarter-pipes, flipping over friends, then bunny-hopping over groups of ten brave souls at a time, Goodland provided background music while bike valets parked people’s rides. A stretch of State Street, next to the farmers market, was closed for a few hours as revelers and participants soaked in the sometimes nail-biting but good, clean fun.
