Petrini’s, a staple for Italian cuisine in both Santa Barbara and Goleta makes its long-awaited second debut in Goleta, reopening for the first time since ending a sixteen year run in 1989. It is reopening now to tremendous fanfare and is including its customers in the celebration with the Petrini’s Italian Recipe Challenge. The contest, to be held on Wednesday, March 2, is sure to generate some buzz, as the grand prize is a year-long spot for their recipe – named for them – on the Petrini’s menu. In a fitting tribute to the winner, he or she will get to eat their creation at Petrini’s free for a year. Lastly, the winner will appear in a Petrini’s television commercial highlighting their winning recipe.
The runners-up will receive $50 Petrini’s gift certificates. “Thatsa nice.”
