Burned Body of Female Teen Identified as 15-Year-Old from Santa Barbara County
A body found burned in a vegetation fire off Highway 58 in Santa Margarita in San Luis Obispo County early Sunday morning has been identified as the remains of a 15-year-old Santa Barbara County female.
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s spokesman Rob Bryn declined to identify which part of the Santa Barbara County the girl was from. Autopsy results are pending, Bryn said.
Five people, including one from Santa Maria, were arrested quickly, in the hours following the discovery of the remains, and are in custody for murder. They are scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning. Sheriff’s detectives, in addition to the highway site, also processed a scene at a home in Nipomo.
