It’s a Monday night and we’re exhausted after returning from a long weekend out of town, and just got word of a loved one’s passing, so we decide to order a pizza instead of cooking, opting for one of our favorites – Pizza Hut.
So we dial the number on our “Just $10!” coupon and we hear, “Thank you for calling the Pizza Hut [on upper De La Vina Street]. This store is now closed and no longer accepting orders … We thank you for your patronage … and if ever in Santa Maria …,” then they kindly give that address and sign off with “Thank you and have a nice day.”
What the heck, did the $10 coupon do them in? Did we miss the memo and/or news article/story about Pizza Hut’s passing in Santa Barbara? Why couldn’t they hold on until football season?
