The fees at the Joseph Centeno Cuyama Aquatics Complex pool in New Cuyama, it was announced this week, will be changed from $2 per hour to $2 per three-hour session. While revenue is expected to go down as a result of the move, the number of lifeguards will also be downsized from two to one on weekdays, since attendance has been lighter on those days. The pool—open from Memorial Day to Labor Day—will be open for two three-hour sessions seven days a week. To fit under state guidelines, the pool capacity will be limited to 40 people at one time, though the facility’s usage history indicates the number during the week will not be a problem.
