S.B. Vets for Peace Chapter 54 and the Fund for Santa Barbara will sponsor a mock cemetery of U.S. military teen casualties at 10 a.m. on 6/18 as a part of the National and International Grassroots War Moratorium Movement. The event, to take place on the SBCC west campus lawn, will recognize 349 18- and 19-year-old casualties from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and, say organizers, will give students the chance to be taken off a recruitment list in opposition to the Solomon Amendment, which allows colleges to give private student information to military recruiters.
