The county’s Air Pollution Control District — which spearheads the Santa Barbara Car Free Project — announced this week that it was bestowed with the EPA’s Clean Air Excellence award. During a ceremony on 5/26 in Washington, D.C. the District was recognized with 14 other recipients around the country for its efforts to reduce emissions, demonstrate innovation, and offer sustainable outcomes. Partners of the Car Free project will be honored at the District Board’s 6/17 meeting.
