Harry Hagen is our best bet for treasurer.
On June 8th, the voters of Santa Barbara County will be asked to elect a new Treasurer-Tax Collector. Harry Hagen is the only candidate with the experience, education, and integrity to successfully lead this office.
I have worked with Harry for 10 years and I have witnessed firsthand how he will “roll up his sleeves” and work side-by-side with staff at any level to complete any task. As the only candidate who is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Public Finance Officer, and a Certified Public Funds Investment Manager, along with having a business economics degree, he is unquestionably the most qualified and the only experienced person running.
You only have to remember the Orange County bankruptcy to understand what could happen when politicians make investment decisions instead of finance experts. This is a non-partisan position and to avoid financial disasters it must remain that way. Gary Feramisco and Bernice James have led this office with the highest degree of integrity and accountability. I have no doubt Harry Hagen, currently the assistant treasurer, will continue the exceptional legacy.
Harry has an impressive list of diverse endorsements including: Santa Barbara County Firefighters Association, Santa Barbara County Deputy Sherriff’s Association, current Auditor-Controller Bob Geis, and all five current members of the Board of Supervisors: Salud Carbajal, Janet Wolf, Doreen Farr, Joni Gray, and Joseph Centeno.
The choice is clear: Harry Hagen.—Hector S. Navarro
