BEYOND HER YEARS: You wouldn’t know it from her stellar reporting, but Indy intern Lyz Hoffman is only a second-year English major at UCSB. The Sacramento native and vegetarian, who’s a devout Raiders fan, first cut her teeth in the newspaper business as an unpaid columnist for the Sacramento Bee and plans to apply to UCSB’s Professional Editing program as soon as she is able.
