Attorneys for Craig Ilenstine and Dana Larsen, accused of illegal actions that may have led to the start of the devastating Jesusita Fire, plan to file briefs addressing what sort of activities require a hot work permit. The two men each face a charge of not getting a hot work permit before clearing brush along the Jesusita Trail the day the fire began. Their attorneys contend the work they were doing does not fall under the category of requiring a permit. The two also face a charge of not having firefighting tools present. Both sides will argue their cases on 4/19.
