INDY.COM, VERSION 3.0: If you’ve run into technical difficulties or irregularities on independent.com in the past week, that’s because we’re upgrading our site to make it more user-friendly than ever before. Helming this transition is our trusty Webmaster Robert LeBlanc, the expert mastermind who built independent.com in 2007, redesigned it in 2008 (winning Editor & Publisher’s best weekly newspaper site in the country award), and every day provides the behind-the-scenes mojo that allows more than 50,000 readers to peruse nearly 150,000 Web pages every week. “The additional stuff we’ll be able to do in the very near future is very cool, but there’s still a lot of work to be done, mostly by me,” said LeBlanc, a bicycling aficionado and drummer when he’s not rocking the Web. “It’s taken years to design everything, so to be able to crunch that down into a couple months has been pretty difficult.” He hopes to get all the kinks ironed out by February, but if you see something out of the ordinary, LeBlanc says to email webmaster@independent.com.
