Santa Barbara artist Betsy Gallery recently was awarded a grant from the Santa Barbara County Arts Commission to help fund her new mosaic mural project dedicated to the survivors of and firefighters who responded to S.B.’s recent wildfires. MOVIN’ ON UP

Santa Barbara Symphony Marketing Director Barbara Burger recently was named the new chair of the Santa Barbara County Arts Commission for 2010. Burger, who has been on the commission for three years, is a longtime advocate for the arts in Santa Barbara, and helped found the Performing Arts League in 2004.

The Downtown Organization and City of Santa Barbara Teen Programs are now accepting applications for their annual Harriet Miller Youth Leadership Awards Scholarship. Applicants must be high school seniors living in S.B. with a minimum 2.5 GPA and 45 community service hours. Applications are available online at sbparksandrecreation.com.
