Teen Scholarships

Applications are now being accepted for the 2010 Harriet Miller Youth Leadership Awards Scholarship. The award is given by the Downtown Organization and the City of Santa Barbara to “an outstanding youth in the Santa Barbara area in recognition of his/her leadership and community service,” according to the press release. To apply, you must be a high school senior in the S.B. Unified School Districts, or a resident of Santa Barbara with a minimum GPA of 2.5, and have completed 45 hours of community service. The deadline is January 4, 2010; drop off or mail applications to the Twelve35 Teen Center (1235 Chapala St.). Applications are available at sbparksandrecreation.com or at the Teen Center.
