SOUTH COUNTY HOLIDAY LIGHT EXCHANGE: Looking to give a gift to Mother Earth this holiday season? From now until Sunday, December 20, Santa Barbarans can turn in their old, tangled, or broken Christmas lights in exchange for one strand of new eco-friendly LED lights, courtesy of the South County Energy Efficiency Partnership. The new bulbs use up to 90 percent less energy and last almost 10 times longer than their incandescent counterparts-and old bulbs will be disposed of in an environmentally safe way.
