The Cancer Center of Santa Barbara announced on 11/9 that it received a $500,000 donation from Montecito resident Elaine Stepanek. A press release stated that Stepanek and her late husband, Edward, have been generous supporters of the Cancer Center for years, allowing the center to rank among the finest facilities in the country. In recognition of the couple’s support, the Board of Trustees of the Cancer Center voted in October to name their Planned Giving Donor Club “The Elaine and Edward Stepanek Society.”

The West Coast Leadership Conference for the Young America’s Foundation will take place on 11/13 and 11/14 at the Reagan Ranch Center on State Street. A contingent of young conservatives from 12 states and 44 colleges and universities are expected to attend, and the event will feature a number of speakers, including Mitt Romney, Congressmember Joe Wilson, Victor Davis Hanson, Andrew Breitbart, and student activist Hannah Giles.
