NO CONSPIRACY THEORY: This week’s cover story, which raises questions about why the World Trade Center really crumbled on September 11, 2001, comes to us from longtime journalist Jay Levin, who founded the L.A. Weekly in 1978, and Tom McKenzie, a freelance journalist. “There’s a legitimate scientific dispute here pitting sophisticated professionals against each other,” said Levin, who is researching a book on the topic. “And the fact that the FBI has agreed to look into the counter evidence and that the major press hasn’t picked up on it, that’s an interesting story.” What’s he think? “My own position on 9/11 was and remains, show me the facts and let’s see what’s there,” said Levin. “I’m not interested in conspiracy theories before the scientific evidence is carefully investigated. I’m very agnostic on the whole thing.”
