Cool off this week at Antarctica and the South Georgia Islands: A Mind-Blowing Wildlife Extravaganza, a lecture by area educator Kathleen Whitney. The world traveler will recount her recent work-as well as her travel partner Doug Hanna’s photographic evidence-of wildlife in the “deep south” to transport your mind to the uncharted winter wonderlands of the world. It takes place Wednesday, September 23, at 7 p.m. at the S.B. Museum of Natural History’s Farrand Hall (2559 Puesta del Sol Rd.). Free. Call 962-6316.
