Last year, one in six children in the United States suffered from hunger. That was before the economy went from bad to unprintable, especially for those most at risk-more than 12 million kids. A small way to fight this catastrophe is to attend Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation, a benefit held throughout the country and right here at the Montecito County Club on Sunday, May 31, from 3-6 p.m. Revel in good food and drink and 100 percent of the proceeds go to fight childhood hunger, some of that via the Foodbank of Santa Barbara. More than 20 terrific restaurants-including Square One, Hungry Cat, and Cafe Luck-will be serving up some of their best dishes and you’ll get to wash them down with Santa Barbara wines from the likes of Ethan, Core, and Kaena. It’s a taste sensation for you, and that’s not even mentioning the live bands and auction items. Plus, you get to support a good cause. Tickets for Taste of the Nation Santa Barbara are $55 in advance and $75 at the door and can be purchased by calling 1-877-26-TASTE or visiting TasteOfTheNation.org.
