A DOCENT PROPOSAL

CINEMATIC ACHIEVEMENTS
This week, UCSB professor Constance Penley and the Carsey-Wolf Center for Film, Television, and New Media were awarded the prestigious MacArthur Digital Innovation Award for $211,000. The grant was given for the group’s work on their DigitalOcean: Sampling the Sea project, which allows students around the world to learn and share information about declining fish populations and their impact on the environment.
FRESH INKS
Arts Alive! founder Laura Inks was recently named as the new Director of Education at the Granada Theatre. An arts teacher and youth advocate for more than 20 years, Inks will be overseeing the theater’s Music and Arts Conservatory, which is open to students ages six through 19 every Saturday.
