Steve Pappas, who lost the 3rd District supervisor seat in November’s election, has filed an appeal of Judge William McLafferty’s dismissal of Pappas’s claims that voter fraud was committed. McLafferty used strong language in his final decision, saying the registration and voting process contained the “highest degree of integrity, diligence, impartiality, professionalism, and competence” by election staff. Despite providing no evidence of alleged misconduct to the court, Pappas had challenged most all of the roughly 9,000 votes cast in Isla Vista and UCSB claiming voter registration drives in those areas were rife with fraud.
