In the latest twist in the more than two-year-old Santa Barbara News-Press unionization strife, a federal court has thrown out allegations that the Teamsters acted illegally when they requested a boycott of companies that advertised in the daily paper. The paper’s attorneys had suggested such was evidence of “bad faith bargaining,” but the National Labor Relations Board-which has already successfully prosecuted the paper for breaking federal labor law-disagreed.
