Most studies show that when the economy slows, drinking picks up. Of course the drinks people pick up usually can’t be the same – a frugality does set in. That doesn’t mean you have to resort to cheap wines with rhyming nicknames, though.
Bob Wesley and the gang from the Winehound are offering a great deal, a discounted tasting of bargain import wines this Wednesday, January 28, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History’s Fleischmann Auditorium. For just $15 per person – down from the occasional tasting series’ usual $25 entrance fee – you will get to taste at least a dozen wines (the line-up is still being chosen), including under $20 favorites like Bodegas Borsao 2007 Garnacha Tres Picos. What’s more, there are appetizers, too, deliciously served up from Metropulos.
These Winehound tastings are a fun way to learn more and have a great start to an evening. You do need to book in advance, so call the store at (805) 845-5247 and make your reservation.
